Battle of Westport Auto Tour

This self-guided auto tour visits the 25 major sites associated with the Battle of Westport and provides a general understanding of the events which took place on Oct. 21-23, 1864.  Each site is designated by a historical narrative marker describing its significance.  Encompassing 32 miles, the route begins in Kansas City, MO at Westport Rd and Pennsylvania Ave and ends at 96th Terr and Wornall Rd.

Big Blue Battlefield Walking Tour

The Byram’s Ford crossing on the Blue River played a crucially significant role in the Battle of Westport.  This self-guided walking tour explores the historic ford and battlefield, which have been listed on the National Register of Historic Places.
